Switzerland is located in the center of Europe and Bern in the heart of Switzerland. It can be accessed conveniently from all locations.

By plane

Bern Airport is located only 30 minutes (by bus and suburban train) from the city center, offering daily connections from several European cities.

Zurich Airport (ZRH) offers the highest number of worldwide connections. The train station is located in the airport.

Geneva Airport (GVA) offers a dense network of primarily European but also North American and Middle Eastern connections. The train station is located in the airport.

EuroAirport Basel (BSL) also offers connections to European cities. The airport bus brings you to Basel main station.

By train

"Swiss Travel Pass" (for several days) and Group tickets (minimum 10 people) options are available for international guests. Accompanied children under 6 travel for free.

The Swiss Federal Railways, one of the best and most reliable railway networks worldwide offers direct train rides to Bern from all Swiss airports every half-hour:
- 75 minute-ride from Zurich airport (ZRH) and Basel airport (BSL)
- 2 hour-ride from Geneva airport (GVA).
High-speed trains from France (TGV), Germany (ICE) and Italy serve Bern.

By car

Bern's motorway intersection is connected to the European long-distance highways from all directions. Be aware that there is no free car park in Bern, and most hotels in the city do not have a parking deck. Prices for parking places start from CHF 18 per day. Only very limited parking places (with costs) are available at the Conference Venue.

How to get to the Congress venue and the places of opening and closing ceremony

The Congress venue is best reached by bus no. 11 to the end station “Güterbahnhof“, followed by a 300m walk - please follow the signs. This bus departs from the square in front of the main train station – “Bern Bahnhof“. An alternative is bus no. 12, stop at the end station “Länggasse“, 500m from the Congress venue. This bus drives through the Old City, the main train station and is convenient if you are staying in one of the city‘s hotels. All hotels in Bern and most B&Bs provide free daily tickets for public transportation during your stay. Tickets are valid in the whole area of Bern.

If you wish to park your car at the vonRoll University Campus parking, you may purchase a parking card for the Congress duration at the registration desk. The Price is 75 CHF, whereof 30 CHF will be reimbursed as deposit upon the return at the registration desk by Saturday, 18 July 16:00 at the latest. Only a limited number of parking cards is available. Access to the parking is only possible from the Bremgartenstrasse (see campus map).

Opening ceremony and welcome reception
The opening ceremony will take place in the Stade de Suisse, Papiermühlestrasse 71, 3014 Bern. Take tram no. 9 direction Wankdorf, the stop “Wankdorf Center“ is just in front of the stadium’s entrance. The tram ride from Bern main train station takes 10 minutes.

Closing ceremony and Congress dinner
The closing ceremony‘s venue is the Kursaal, Kornhausstrasse 3, 3007 Bern. This is one stop from “Kornhaus“ by tram no. 9 or bus no. 10 to “Kursaal“, or from the main train station just walk 10 minutes over the Kornhausbrücke (bridge).
