2015 FEPSAC Award

FEPSAC invites Young Researchers in Sport Psychology to submit their scientific work for the 2015 FEPSAC Award. The award is announced in two formats: Oral and Poster presentations. Since the first FEPSAC Congress in 1991, FEPSAC acknowledges the outstanding research achievements of its members. For the 14th Congress in 2015, FEPSAC encourages students of any age and nationality to apply for the Award.

Eligibility criteria
All required documents need to be uploaded by the new abstract submission deadline of 20 January 2015.
- Student status and originality of the submitted work (this is confirmed by a form from the supervisor). Students from all nationalities, age, academic year, and institutions are welcome to apply.
- FEPSAC student membership for the year of the congress (2015 membership) must be fully paid prior to applying for this award. Please upload your Paypal payment confirmation (PDF format) to the online submission platform along your abstract submission.
Submission Options
A) Oral Contest
- Eligible participants are required to submit a short paper** in addition to their 300 words abstract for the Congress. See below for short paper format requirements.
- Short papers** will be evaluated and a limited number of submissions will be selected for the 2015 FEPSAC Award oral presentation session. Candidates will be given 12 minutes for their presentation, which will be followed by questions from the jury.
- Participants may submit a candidature regardless of whether their presentation is part of a symposium. This exception only applies to Award applicants.
- Submissions that are part of a symposium will be presented in the respective symposium regardless of selection for the FEPSAC Award session.
- Submissions that are not part of a symposium and are not selected for the oral contest will automatically be accepted as a regular poster presentation (not for the poster contest).
B) Poster Contest
- Eligible participants are required to submit a short paper** in addition to their 300 words abstract for the Congress. See below for short paper format requirements.
- Short papers** will be evaluated and a limited number of submissions will be selected for the 2015 FEPSAC Award poster presentation session.
- All posters selected for the 2015 FEPSAC Award poster presentation session will be scheduled in one poster session. Participants will have to answer questions asked by the members of the jury.
- Submissions that are not selected for the poster contest are still accepted as a regular poster presentation.
** Short paper format requirements for both oral and poster contests:
- Eligible participants are required to submit (in addition to their 300 words abstract) a 1000-1200 words short paper by 15 January 2015 via the regular abstract submission platform.
- All short papers must be formatted in a Word document, Times New Roman 12, double-spaced, with page numbers on the top right hand side.
- The short papers must include and clearly identify all the following 4 sections: Introduction (including a brief Review of Literature), Method, Results, and Discussion.
- Short papers’ length cannot exceed 1200 words.
- Do NOT include your name or any identifiable information on the document (blind review).
- All in-text citations and references must be formatted according to the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition. (The list of references does NOT count toward the word limit).
Policies and restrictions
- Each applicant can submit one only entry (either oral or poster).
- Applicants must submit a regular abstract for the Congress and then must submit an application for the Award in the appropriate section. (Therefore, candidates will submit their work in two different sections of the abstract submission platform).
- Topics should be relevant to the themes of topics/themes of the congress
- Applicants should be the first author in the submission.
- Candidates selected for the oral and poster contests are expected to attend the Award Ceremony (scheduled during the Congress Closing Ceremony on Saturday, 19 July 2015).
- Late and/or incomplete entries for the Award will not be accepted.
- All submissions will initially be blind-reviewed by the Congress reviewing Committee. Upon acceptance to the Congress, applications will then be transferred to the Award Evaluation Committee who will blind-review the abstracts and long papers.
Evaluation criteria
- The evaluation will be based on the quality of the abstract, the short paper, the presentation, the presentation skills and defence, and the overall impression.
